Zönotéka
was founded in June 2014 and functions as a symbiotic exhibition and production site for innovative encounters. Focused on an interdisciplinary understanding of art, we endeavor to creatively address scientific issues as well as to foster an inventive micro-community.
ZÖNOTÉKA works on a non-profit basis and relies on the enthusiasm of the people involved.
Its name deriving from the biological term ‘coenosis’ and the idea of a shelf or the movement of placing, presenting and storing things (-‘thek’), ZÖNOTÉKA can be defined as an independent project space, a shared shelf, a cupboard-symbiosis, or a common ground to place ideas.
Space and content remain unified, while the box is re-framed for every hosted presentation.
Located in Berlin-Kreuzkölln, ZÖNOTÉKA aims to foster a creative micro-community by offering individual working places beside a varying exhibition, event, and screening program. By means of selected projects, a symbiotic space for innovative encounters will be carefully established.
